October 15 - Corporate Tax Filings
Mark your calendar for October 15 if you've filed for a 6-month extension on your 2024 calendar year income tax return (Form 1120). Ensure all due taxes, interests, and penalties are settled to maintain compliance.

October 15 - Payroll and Nonpayroll Withholdings

Employers adhering to monthly deposit rules must deposit Social Security, Medicare, and withheld income tax for September 2025 by October 15. The same due date applies for September’s nonpayroll withholdings, if the monthly deposit rule is applicable.

October 15 - Establishing Keogh Plans
For self-employed individuals with a 6-month tax return extension, this is the last chance to establish a Keogh Retirement Account for contributions towards the 2024 tax year.

October 31 - Quarterly Payroll Reports
Submit Form 941 for the third quarter of 2025 by the end of the month. If your taxes were deposited on time and in full, filing the return can be extended until November 10. If your tax liability remains under $2,500, the balance may be paid with a timely filed return.

October 31 - Federal and Small Employer Tax Deposits
Small employers with fluctuating liabilities, especially those between $2,500 to $2,999, must ensure all deposits are current. Additionally, Federal Unemployment taxes exceeding $500 by September should be deposited by the end of October.

Weekends & Holidays Adjustments:

If any deadline lands on a weekend or federal holiday, expect an automatic extension to the next business day.
